McTague Law Firm LLP is one of the oldest, largest and most reputable law firms in Southwestern Ontario. We have a rich history and an impressive roster of current and former partners and associates.
We recognize that articling is an important period and, therefore, place a particular emphasis on our articling program. We seek well-rounded, motivated and self-starting individuals to join our firm, in a dynamic and friendly atmosphere.
As a full service law firm, our articling program is specifically designed to expose articling students to a wide variety of legal matters, while retaining the flexibility to permit students to pursue their own specific interests. Working closely with lawyers from each practice area, articling students will have the opportunity to conduct legal research, interview witnesses, meet with clients, draft documents, and make court appearances.
The firm typically hires two students for each articling year. In hiring students, we consider academic achievement, outside interests, and personality. We specifically look for students who can produce quality work, take responsibility and relate well to members of our firm and our clients.
Our compensation package is competitive with other larger Essex County law firms. For the right person, we also offer the possibility of future employment, where the need exists, as an associate and eventual admission to the partnership. We invite you to review the lawyer profiles on our website which demonstrate that our articling program has provided the primary source of associates and partners within the firm.
Students who are interested in applying for an articling position should send their application, consisting of a covering letter, resume, and copies of undergraduate and law school transcripts, to:
