J. Douglas Lawson, Q.C.
Doug Lawson was born in Windsor, Ontario. He articled with the McTague Law Firm prior to joining the firm in 1967 and became a partner in 1971. Mr. Lawson was chair of the Partnership until 2003 when he was appointed Counsel to the Firm. In that capacity, Mr. Lawson makes his extensive experience available to all members of the Firm, and in particular, is senior counsel to the Business Law Department. He was granted the designation of Queen's Counsel (Q.C.) by HRH Queen Elizabeth II on December 30, 1981, and appointed a Member in the Order of Ontario (O.Ont.) by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario in January 2003. He was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Laws by the University of Windsor in 2008.
